For a couple of years in the early '80s I owned a 1968 Datsun 1600 roadster. It was similar to a mid-sixties MGB. It had Hitachi SU carburetors. It was reasonably nimble when it was tuned well, but I thought of it as more of a toy than a "real" sports car such as the Élan. :-) It was fun to toss the rear end out due to its live rear axle layout. I rather crudely doctored this photo to remove the plague of rust that had attacked the car, so you could see what it might have looked like when it was only five years old or so...
